Payment Methods
Paying at Elmsley & Rowe is straightforward and secure. Everything you need to know is below.
WHAT WE ACCEPT
We accept credit and debit cards through our secure checkout. The card types available to you are shown at checkout before you confirm your order.
We do not currently offer instalment plans or buy now, pay later options.
WHAT YOU PAY
The total shown at checkout is the total you pay. There is nothing else to settle, at any point.
- Delivery is free on every order, worldwide, with no minimum spend
- No handling, packaging or processing fees
- No customs charges. Duties and import fees on international dispatches are covered by us, so nothing is payable on arrival
- No subscriptions, membership fees or recurring charges of any kind
The only cost that could ever fall outside your checkout total is a currency conversion or foreign transaction fee applied by your own bank, if your card is issued outside the United Kingdom. That charge is set by your bank, not by us, and we do not receive any part of it.
CURRENCY AND VAT
All prices are shown in pounds sterling (GBP).
John Patrick Gale Limited is not currently registered for VAT. No VAT is charged on your order and none appears separately on your receipt. The price you see is simply the price.
SECURITY
Our website runs over SSL encryption throughout, and payment is processed inside Shopify's secure environment, which is certified to the PCI DSS standard used across the payments industry.
We never receive, see or store your full card number or security code. Those details go directly into the encrypted checkout and are handled by the payment provider.
We will never ask for your password, card security code or full banking details by email, telephone or WhatsApp. If you receive a message claiming to be from us and asking for any of those, do not reply to it. Forward it to contact@elmsleyandrowe.com and we will look into it.
WHEN YOU ARE CHARGED
Payment is taken when you place your order. A contract is formed when we email you to confirm that your order has been accepted and dispatched.
If we cannot fulfil your order, for example because an item is out of stock or a pricing error occurred, we contact you and refund the full amount without delay.
IF YOUR PAYMENT IS DECLINED
Declines are decided by your card issuer, not by us, and we do not see the specific reason. The most common causes are:
- Insufficient available balance or credit limit
- Card details entered incorrectly, including the billing address
- A card that is expired, blocked, or not enabled for online purchases
- A precautionary fraud block applied by your bank
Check your details and try again, use another card, or contact your bank. If the payment is not authorised, no order is created and no money is taken.
DISCOUNT CODES
Discount codes must be entered in the field provided at checkout, before you confirm your order. We cannot apply a code after an order has been placed.
Unless expressly stated, codes cannot be combined. They are for personal use, are not transferable and have no cash value.
Items bought with a discount code carry exactly the same statutory and contractual rights as items bought at full price.
CANCELLING AND REFUNDS
You can cancel at no cost at any time before dispatch. You also have a statutory right to cancel within 14 days of delivery, and we offer an extended 30-day goodwill window.
Refunds are issued to your original payment method within 14 days of us receiving the goods back or you providing proof of postage, whichever is earlier. Your bank may take a few extra days to show the credit on your statement.
